Book design and self‑publishing guidance
Mentorographer Molly Lavik came to me with a completed manuscript and a clear vision for her book; she wanted Going Supernova to be clean, legible, and distinctive, with a sophisticated air that would highlight the many experts and celebrities profiled in the book. I created an interior design that was professional-looking while remaining very accessible. I worked with Amazon’s CreateSpace to publish the resulting 352-page book in paperback. The next step was to create coordinating ePub editions of the book customized for the requirements of Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Apple. Once those were finalized and released, Molly and I worked together to assemble a promotional WordPress site based on the print design and featuring some of the book’s content.
