100 Yards of Glory

100 Yards of Glory celebrates—in print and on screen—100 of professional football’s greatest moments, players, coaches, teams, and triumphs. It features amazing photography and, in the ebook edition, bonus video. The ebook was intended to reproduce the print book perfectly, but it needed to be searchable, so all the formatting had to be done with CSS and hand-tweaked. At the time Adobe InDesign did not have a fixed-format ePub export feature, so I developed my own process to convert the InDesign files to PDFs and run them through Adobe Fireworks to produce XHTML that could then be normalized. When the process had been tested on the book’s blad and was ready for prime time, I documented it thoroughly so that offshore desktop operators could do the actual conversion.
